Who We Are

Ocean Education International (OEI) is a consulting firm focusing on environmental education and professional development services for the marine tourism industry, specializing in the recreational scuba sector. Our mission is to assist the marine tourism industry maximize profitability through increased environmental awareness and social responsibility. In pursuing our mission we hope to realize our ultimate vision--to make marine tourism an important and positive force in ocean conservation. Underpinning everything we do are four fundamental principles:
  1. To create economic success for our clients using programs and strategies that promote healthy marine ecosystems.
  2. To create economic success for our clients using programs and strategies that respect local communities and cultures.
  3. To make the tourism experience more than “sun and fun” by inspiring environmental stewardship among marine tour operators and tourists.
  4. To minimize the negative impact on the marine environment, and to make that environment "better than we found it."
          
 Our approach is to “work both ends of the tourism equation”—the tourist and the tourism professional. So, whether you make your living in the marine tourism industry, or you’re a tourist looking to better understand and appreciate the magical world beneath the waves, we encourage you to explore our website.
